January Breakfast and lunch menu
3rd & 4th grade kiddos tackling fractions today… and nobody cried! 🎉😂
3rd and 4th Grade Students used our new **fraction manipulatives**, including some very convincing **½ apple pieces** 🍎, and suddenly fractions weren’t scary anymore. The kids could see it, touch it, and actually *get it* — two halves make a whole, equal parts matter, and yes… fractions can be fun!
There were lots of “OHhhhhh!” moments, big smiles, and a few kids who are now very confident fraction experts (at least with apples 😄). Hands-on learning for the win, and a tough lesson turned into a total success! 🍎➗✨

A huge thank you to the Community Alliance Group for their incredible generosity and creativity in hosting the Gratitude Gift Shop!
Today, our K–6 students traveled to McLaughlin and had the wonderful opportunity to select one or two special gifts to give to a loved one or caregiver as a way to say “thank you” for all they do.
This experience not only brought joy to our students but also taught the importance of gratitude and giving. We are so fortunate to have such a caring and supportive community making moments like this possible.
Selfridge School deeply appreciates the Community Alliance Group for going above and beyond to create this meaningful experience for our kids!

More pictures from the Sioux County Gratitude Project...Thanks Again

A massive thank you to the Shields/Selfridge Sportsman Club for the treat bags!
🍬🥜 Candy **and** peanuts—because why choose just one when you can have perfection? The kids were pumped as they got off the bus, and let’s be honest… a few “samples” were taken for quality assurance (My Job).
Thanks for the generosity and the snacks that made our day way more fun!

Christmas Spirit Week

“If you missed the Christmas Concert, you *really* missed out. There was Santa spreading cheer, the Grinch trying (and failing) to steal it, kiddos dancing and singing with maximum enthusiasm and minimum choreography, and enough cookies to keep everyone sugared up and smiling. It was loud, festive, slightly chaotic, and an all-around great time had by all!” 🎄🍪😄

Today, Friday December 12th, All Selfridge K-12 students and staff will be released at approximately 2:50 PM, or right after the Christmas program, which ever comes first. Drive carefully and be ready to bring students home earlier today. Thank you and have a safe and peaceful weekend.
The **Peace of My Mind Project** was a tremendous success, and we’re thrilled to share that the final pieces have been proudly showcased on our school’s active boards. With everything complete, our students’ work has officially been unveiled on a **WALL OF HONOR**!
Be sure to check out these incredible displays during today’s **Christmas Concert**—you’ll find one in the Elementary and another in the High School. Our kiddos put their hearts into this project, and it truly shows.
A huge **thank you** to everyone who participated and supported our students along the way. Your encouragement helped make this meaningful project come to life! 🎄✨

🎄 **IT’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM DAY!** 🎄
Today is the day our kiddos transform into shining stars, dancing elves, confident carolers, and maybe even a reindeer or two who forgot their cues. They’ve been practicing *very* hard for **profection**—yes, we’re aiming for that magical level of perfection where anything that goes wrong is automatically considered “part of the show.”
At **2:00 PM** in the **commons area**, we will be featuring:
✨ Adorable singers
✨ Brave little actors
✨ Controlled (mostly) holiday chaos
✨ Enough cuteness to melt even the coldest North Dakota winter
You absolutely do **not** want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime performance. Trust us—some of these kids have been rehearsing like Broadway hopefuls, and others… well, they’re just here for the cookies afterward.
Either way, you're guaranteed smiles, laughs, and maybe that one moment where a tiny Santa forgets his line and just waves proudly at the crowd.
Come join us for all the festive fun! 🎶🎅🎁
