Congratulations to our 4 students who achieved **Perfect Attendance for Semester 1**! 🎉 Arlene/Braylin/Phyllece/Ma'Lani

This is a huge accomplishment and a true reflection of your dedication, responsibility, and commitment to your education. Showing up every day, on time, and ready to learn takes effort, consistency, and determination. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and it plays a big role in your academic success and personal growth.

We are incredibly proud of you for making attendance a priority and setting a positive example for your classmates.

We had 25 Elementary Students, 7 Junior High Students, and 5 High Students who qualify for the attendance incentive trip (Less then 5 absences in Semester 1).
(Movie in Bismarck, here we come)

Keep up the outstanding work as we move into Semester 2—your commitment today builds the foundation for success tomorrow! 👏📚✨

Our 4 Seniors spent some quality time reading UFLI stories with our Kindergarten students, and it was a *great* reminder that learning truly goes both ways. Don’t worry—the Kindergartners were right there to help the Seniors with those *big words* (and may have enjoyed being the experts just a little 😉).

Lots of smiles, laughter, and confidence building all around. This is what school community looks like—older students leading, younger students shining, and everyone learning together. Love moments like this!** ❤️

7th and 8th grade Science students are nearing completion of their robot builds and have begun the testing phase. (Water Robot) Stop by the Science Room and have the students show you their work)

Students are actively applying the scientific method by forming hypotheses, testing their designs, observing outcomes, and making adjustments based on their results.

This hands-on learning experience highlights science at its best—engaging, problem-solving focused, and student-driven. Through trial, error, and collaboration, students are deepening their understanding of engineering concepts while strengthening critical thinking and perseverance skills. Great Job Kiddos

Testing

Selfridge 7th and 8th grade students have been hard at work in Science using their Robot Kits, and the learning has been exciting to see!** These hands-on activities allow students to apply problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills in a meaningful way. Building, testing, and refining their robots gives students the opportunity to learn by doing—because hands-on learning truly is the best.

A big thank you to **Mr. Johnson** for providing engaging, high-quality learning experiences that spark curiosity and keep students actively involved. Great work all around!

So excited to see our littles learning to read using **UFLI**! 📚✨ The engagement, focus, and confidence they showed today was incredible to watch. Our students are truly building strong foundational reading skills, and it’s paying off in a big way.

A huge shout-out to **Miss Theresa** and **Miss Patty**—you both absolutely rocked it today! 👏 Your clear instruction, hands-on approach, and positive energy created a learning environment where students felt supported, successful, and excited to read. The routines were smooth, expectations were clear, and the kids were fully locked in from start to finish.

Moments like these are a great reminder that when strong instruction meets dedication and heart, amazing learning happens. So proud of our Kindergarten littles.💙📖

*PE Skills on Display*

* Striker Ball Game*
Students practice striking a ball using controlled swings. This game helps build hand–eye coordination, balance, and timing while teaching students how to aim, adjust force, and avoid accidentally bonking their friends. It’s all about learning to hit the ball on purpose and feeling like a sports superstar while doing it.

*Balloon Skills*
Balloons float, wobble, and refuse to listen—making them perfect teachers. Students respond to cues like “tap,” “catch,” or “don’t let it touch the floor!” while chasing runaway balloons around the space. This activity builds coordination, reaction time, and fundamental motor skills, all while tricking kids into exercising because they’re too busy laughing and saving their balloon from dramatic disaster 🎈

🎉📚 **SEMESTER ONE HONOR ROLL ALERT!** 📚🎉
Big-time congratulations to our **Selfridge Honor Roll students**! These amazing kiddos put in the effort, stayed focused (most of the time 😉), and proved that hard work truly pays off.

They tackled assignments, survived tests, powered through projects, and somehow still remembered to turn things in—now *that* is impressive! 🧠✏️ Their dedication, determination, and positive attitudes are something to celebrate loud and proud.

We couldn’t be more proud of the work these students have done. They are setting the bar high, leading by example, and showing that success isn’t luck—it’s earned. 👏👏👏

Way to go, Selfridge Honor Roll students! Keep shining, keep learning, and keep making Selfridge a place where great things happen every day! 💙📖✨

**4th Grade:** Students are sharpening their critical thinking skills by identifying the *claim* in texts and supporting their understanding with evidence.

**Reading:** Phoneme phones were used during reading fluency checks to help students hear themselves clearly and strengthen accuracy and expression. 📖🔊

**Science Spotlight:** Kyra and Jake finished their **Energy Robot Activity**, showing great creativity and understanding of energy concepts! 🤖⚡

Great work by our students and teachers as they continue to grow as readers, thinkers, and scientists! 🌟
