Hello! I am Jalisa Cruz and I am from Porcupine, ND.

This is currently my 4th year of teaching, but my first year at Selfridge Elementary. I previously taught 3rd and 4th grade at St. Bernard Mission School in Fort Yates.

I attended Sitting Bull College, intending only to complete my generals and then transfer. While taking classes I also worked as a GED tutor. It was during this time that I realized I enjoyed helping people learn! Instilling confidence and helping them to achieve things they might not have thought they were capable of, and seeing that happiness and fulfillment when they reached (or surpassed) their goals. This is what paved the way for me in becoming a teacher
